African American Heritage Month Celebrations in Solano County

Celebrate African-American History Month at your local Solano County Library with events throughout the month of February 2018.

FAIRFIELD – Celebrate African-American History with these educational and fun events at various Fairfield locations throughout the month of February:

Quilting Sisters Workshop – The history of quilting is presented where you can even learn how to quilt!
Suisun City Library • Sat., Feb. 3rd • 11am-3pm

Oware & Mancala – Create and play an Oware game, learn about Mancala, a West African strategy game, and create a board game of your own to take home.
Fairfield Civic Center Library • Wed., Feb. 7th • 3:30-4:30pm

Soul Food Celebration – A tasty presentation of soul food cooking and history with Ms. Cheryl Reed of Chez Soul.
Fairfield Civic Center Library • Sat., Feb. 10th • 11-12:30pm

African-Americans & Aviation – Learn about the amazing contributions that African-Americans have made to aviation with a scavenger hunt and activities.
Fairfield Cordelia Library • Wed., Feb. 14th • 3-4:00pm

In the Groove Performs – Local band In the Groove will perform classic pop, soul and R&B hits.
Fairfield Civic Center Library • Sat., Feb. 17th • 2-3:30pm
