Dixon May Fair and Parade

DIXON – The Dixon May Fair, the oldest Fair in California, will be held for the 142nd time May 11-14. The theme is “Farm to Fair” as they showcase the community with local and regional music, livestock shows, exhibits of quilts, jams, art, floriculture and more.
The parade, which takes place Saturday, May 13th, will make its way along First Street and then head south towards

Before the parade, why not start your day off with the Annual Rotary Pancake Breakfast, held at the beautiful Olde Vets Hall, 231 N. First Street? Cost is only $5 per person.
The Fair opens on Thursday, May 11th with nationally acclaimed country artist, Jackson Michelson. Entertainment on Friday will be Northern California favorite, Buck Ford. Saturday, the Fair welcomes back The Nickel Slots from last year’s Battle of the Bands. Sunday features The Voice artist, Summer Schappell. Other returning favorites are Hey Jude Band, Keep on Truckin’, Rhythm Method and Two-Tone Steiny and the Cadillacs.
The Coors Light Grandstand entertainment will feature Professional Bull and Bronco Riding and Hot Rod Truck and Tractor Pulls, both sports that originated in agriculture. The grand finale is always the sold-out Truck Destruction Derby, so purchase tickets early.
The annual Classic Car Show on Saturday spans the early days of hot rods, customs and touring cars to the tunes of 50’s and 60’s rock n’ roll music. Sunday features top Latin music celebrating Fiesta de Dia de los Madres.
The Jest in Time Circus brings excitement to the Kids Zone and AgVentureland is back with hands-on farming fun. Take a ride on the free train around the Fairgrounds and be sure to visit the animals in the livestock barns and talk to the local kids who have raised them.
