Volunteer to Tutor an Adult in Solano

"Someone taught you to read. Repay the favor" ~ Literacy Volunteer

The Solano Library Literacy Services is calling for volunteers to train to teach adults in their community to read.

VACAVILLE – Did you know that 60,000 adults in Solano County can’t read? There are community members that need your help. When adults learn how to read and write, they stay healthier, find and keep jobs, contribute to their community, and help their children do well in school. The Solano Library Literacy Services can train you to help someone improve their reading, writing and/or speaking skills.

The Solano County Library Literacy Services tutor orientation is held in Fairfield beginning in January. For more information about volunteering and to reserve your seat, call 707-784-1526, visit solanolibrary.com, or email literacy@solanocounty.com.
