Wreaths Across America: Donate to our Fallen Heroes
SACRAMENTO VALLEY NATIONAL CEMETERY/DIXON – Join the Wreaths Across America project by donating money or volunteering to place wreaths on the graves of all veterans interred at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery. This annual event that is scheduled for December 16th at 9am brings community members of all ages together for an opportunity to honor and remember those fallen service men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice to defend America’s freedoms.
On National Wreaths Across America Day, volunteers place wreaths on individual veterans’ graves in over 1,200 locations throughout the U.S., with ceremonies at sea, along with each of the national cemeteries on foreign soil.
Since 2006, this has been a tradition for the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery. Being one of the few to have 100% coverage each year, your help is needed to reach the goal of 20,500 wreaths. Help give the vets the respect they deserve by honoring them this holiday season by donating no later than November 30th, 2017.
RememberAVet.net is the fundraising group behind Solano’s local Wreaths Across America program and their mission is to secure donations to purchase wreaths, ensuring that each grave site at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery is recognized and honored during the holiday season. They are also concentrating on raising awareness of this project and encouraging other civic groups, organizations and individuals to join in this effort each year, for this and other cemeteries.
The cost of each wreath is only $9 and you can purchase as many as you would like by November 30th. Checks and money orders can be sent to: RememberAVet.net, PO Box 773, Winters, CA 95694.
