Million Thai Cuisine

FAIRFIELD – New to downtown Fairfield, Million Thai Cuisine’s menu offers a selection of appetizers, lunch specials, soups, curries, rice and noodle dishes and various entrées, as well as chef’s specialties at moderate prices.

We were very impressed with the quality and flavors of our dishes which included Yellow Curry (with pork, potatoes, carrots, onions, yellow curry paste and coconut milk), Spicy Drunken Noodles (stir fried flat rice noodle with basil leaves, bell pepper, onion, and tomato in chili garlic sauce with choice of meat), and Thai Fried Rice.

Dessert options include Sticky Rice with cream or mango, Roti (a sweetened bread), and fried ice cream.

Valley Cafe

FAIRFIELD – Valley Café has been an extremely popular breakfast and lunch spot for many years among locals and is known for their extensive menu options, fun and entertaining wall art, friendly service, and casual feel.

They offer many lunch items, including various salads, sandwiches and hot plates, but they’re best known for their breakfast entrées.

All dishes are cooked to order. Specialties include their signature fluffy pancakes (which cover the entire plate). Willy’s Country Skillet features hash browns, sausage, and eggs on top of biscuits and gravy. Try their Aloha French Toast, which is topped with shredded coconut, pineapple chunks and chocolate chips and served with eggs, sausage and bacon. Yum!

Tokyo Grill

VACAVILLE –Although it opened in 2005, Tokyo Grill boasts of 25 years of combined restaurant experience offering high quality, fresh Japanese food and friendly service in an informal environment.

Popular menu items include Bibimbap (marinated steamed vegetables with cooked egg and beef and over rice), curry and Japanese-style fried rice, Yaki Soba (Japanese-style stir fried noodles), and Hibachi-Style dishes (pre-marinated meat or fish cooked with zucchini, onions and mushrooms).

Pedro’s Cocina

DIXON – You may have driven past this modest establishment many times not knowing of its existence next to a liquor store and gas station, but step inside and you’ll immediately get a sense you’re in for the “real deal” — from the sounds of the music you hear to the alluring aromas emanating from the open-air kitchen.

The colorful menu is in plain sight above the front counter where you’ll place your order and then find a table. Try the Barbacoa Tacos, which includes three tender slow-cooked beef tacos. Another popular dish is the Molcajete Mixto (perfect for two to share). Inside of the clay stone bowl is a mixture of avocado, cilantro, fresh onions, grilled onions, poblano pepper, queso fresco, carrots, shrimp, chicken, beef and pork in a bubbling salsa verde sauce.
