Cabo: A Food Lover’s Paradise
Are you traveling to Cabo San Lucas or San José del Cabo, Mexico, in Baja soon? Well, pack a big appetite for all the excellent restaurant options coming your way! Known as a foodie paradise, both San Lucas and San José boast every reason not to choose the all-inclusive as your dining option. Here are two of our favorites:
Tres Sirenas Cocina Del Mar
We went all out for this Sunday night meal, beginning with a beautifully prepared tableside Lobster Caesar Salad. We ordered our entrée family style: a trio of shrimp, red snapper and steak. If there’s one thing that chefs of Baja know how to do, it’s cook fish to perfection. It was absolutely delicious and plenty for four people. Looking around, we saw both Mexican coffee and Bananas Foster prepared tableside by the experienced (and entertaining) servers, so we had to give it a try. The aroma from the Bananas Foster is enough to make all the other diners envious! If tequila is your thing, summon the “ice cream man” who will visit your table with his cart and specialty “tequilas,” some available for purchase. Tres Sirenas (Three Mermaids) is a memorable restaurant experience and one that you are guaranteed to enjoy. Make sure to make a reservation in advance.
Tiki Bar
Featured on Season 18 of Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives, this little “hole-in-the-wall” overlooks the beautiful marina with food that does not disappoint! Guy Fieri reviewed the Serranito Roll (sushi) on his visit, and so we thought that would be a “must try.” Wrapped in yellowfin tuna and boasting of tuna, cucumber and cream cheese topped with jalapeño, I believe it was the freshest sushi I’ve ever eaten. We also ordered the Karencita, California Roll and Sashimi Tuna, which melted in your mouth. Are we making you hungry yet? In addition to an extensive sushi menu, Tiki Bar will cook your freshly caught fish three different ways for a nominal fee. Not a fish lover? Salads, burgers and other options are also on the menu. With a full bar, great ambiance and top-notch food, this is a place not to miss.
