Ron George’s “Christmas in My Hometown”

Ron George, along with Emily Jessen, Zach and Aaron George, make up the production team for the annual Christmas in my Hometown. Celebrating its 19th year, this magical Broadway-style production showcases over 100 singers, dancers, and musicians working in harmony to bring the joy of Christmas to their audience.
Debuting in 2006, it has become a wonderful holiday tradition. The variety show is fashioned after the holiday specials of early TV days, when stars were joined by their families in a cozy front room setting.

Performing on stage this year are Emily Jessen, Christina Jacklin, Zach & Aaron George, The Will C. Wood Sylvan Singers, The Tintanabulus Hand Bell Choir, The Fabulous Dixon Dancers, Alina Adams Music Studio Ensemble, and the Winters High School Chorus directed by Mike Williams.

Planning for the show starts in early July, and from then until showtime, sets are built, songs are learned, new props are added, and the team is always trying to outdo their last performance. Christmas in My Hometown has been a family affair from the beginning. Ron’s wife Sharron and their son Doug, along with his wife Julie, help with setting up and decorating the stage, as well as preparing the pre-show welcome party for guests.
